CLIENT: Bvlgari

PRODUCT/BRIEF: As part of the ‘Stand By Me’ issue of RUSSH Magazine the iconic Bvlgari Serpenti Jewellery was depicted in a four page print advertorial alongside a feature article on the SerpentiForm exhibition. An extended version of the shoot was published on RUSSH.com.

TITLE: DECEPTION

IDEA: Eve in the Garden of Eden. Art Direction for the set was a lush leafy backdrop to offset a yellow snake colour pop with an overall moody, shadowy light. The themes of deception, life and death, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, lies and vengeance are seen here through the biblical symbol of the snake, the garden and the model’s expressions. The power of the snake as a universal symbol depends the visuals. The snake signifies change, is a deliverer of messages, a symbol of cyclical seasons, unawakened potential, imagination and unending creative potential. Snakes shed skin as symbols of rebirth, metamorphosis and renewal. Who wouldn’t want to wear the snake as a reminder of and a way to harness these powerful themes.
